Sue Boldra First to File for Congressional Race

HAYS – Sue Boldra, Hays Republican, last week filed the paperwork necessary to ensure her name will appear on the ballot for U.S. Congress in August 2010.  With this move, Boldra will become the first in an increasing field of candidates to take this crucial step.

“Today I have taken the next big step in my campaign to serve the people of the First District in Congress,” said Boldra.  “I am excited by the opportunity to serve, and look forward to continuing to meet people as I travel this district.

Since announcing her candidacy in March, Boldra has been busy touring the district and speaking with voters.

“As I have toured this district I have heard the stories of citizens struggling to make ends meet and concerned about what the future may hold,” said Boldra.  “I pledge to advocate for the way of life Kansans hold dear, from the small businesses on Main Street and the family farm, to the values that make this a great place to raise a family.”

Boldra brings a wide range of experience to her campaign, serving as an educator, a small business owner, farmer, and realtor.  Boldra’s background experiences have prepared her on many issues vital to Kansans, and given her what she calls a “common sense” approach to solving problems that she pledges to take to Washington.

“Sue has repeatedly demonstrated that she is the best candidate for the job, she knows how to use bold leadership to get things done,” said Ron Wente, Golden Belt Bank President/CEO and Boldra Campaign Chairman.  “By being the first to formally file for this position she has again demonstrated her dedication to serving the people of this district.”
