Yesterday, I drove back to McPherson, picked up Mom and sister Carmen, and drove to the home of Bob and Sondra Tolle where the Roxbury area Lion’s Club was having their monthly meeting. The hosts were very gracious and the backyard was the perfect setting for an evening meal and meeting.  David Eagles from Roxbury invited me to attend and to address the group.  Thank you so much for the opportunity.  Civic groups like the Lion’s Club hold very important positions in our representative democracy.  It is through their efforts that civic efficacy is personified, where democratic traditions are blended with faith and community service.
