Carl rode the Trizzard, Abby and Katie carried the banner, and Pam and I walked the parade route of the “There’s No Place Like Home” themed Old Settler’s Parade in Ness City. With over 160 entries it was certainly the largest, longest parade in which I have participated. The entries were diverse, fun-loving, and memorable. I came down with an acute case of laryngitis, couldn’t visit with the community, so went home to Hays immediately following the parade. I am so sorry we couldn’t stay and mingle with the many people who returned “home” for this once-every-five-years event. Congratulations to the community of Ness City!
